European Conference: Market Liberalisation and Regulation of European Network Industries
This Conference marks the official launch of the European Networks Law and Regulation (ENLR), a new quarterly publication dealing with all key legal aspects for all players in the network industries both at EU and national level.

This Conference marks the official launch of the European Networks Law and Regulation (ENLR), a new quarterly publication dealing with all key legal aspects for all players in the network industries both at EU and national level. Like the ENLR, this conference will first address the main horizontal issues common to the network industry sectors, such as energy, telecoms and transport, among others.

Traditionally organised as State monopolies, most of these sectors have been liberalised either through EU legislation, or on the Member States’ own initiatives. Although being in different stages of the liberalisation process, all of these sectors are characterised by similar transitional problems and comparable levels of interaction between the public and private actors in the management of essential infrastructure and the operation of related services.

This as such renders a comparative approach most profitable and relevant. Subsequent conferences will then address more sector-specific aspects.
